Do I need a hair analysis consultation?
A hair analysis consultation is an important component of a hair analysis test or program. This is why we include a complementary consultation (at no additional cost, in the US only) in our program (Shop and Compare).
In the same manner you consult with your doctor concerning the results of your blood analysis, it is equally important to consult the results of your hair analysis.
If you look at the graphic results of a hair analysis, you can see which nutritional minerals are excessive and deficient. You can also see if any toxic elements were revealed in the analysis. You can read the interpretation of the analysis and capture some understanding of the results.
However, because of the complexity of the analysis, laboratory interpretations are in a summary form. This may be sufficient for some but for most, it raises questions that should be addressed.
Nutrition is complex and relies on complex interrelationships between all essential nutrients. Essential nutrients not only include minerals but vitamins, amino acids, and fats. Imagine how complex this becomes when toxic elements are revealed in the analysis!
What does a hair analysis consultation reveal?
A hair analysis consultation keeps you pointed toward your goals. We believe it is very important that you capture a deeper understanding of what the results actually mean because it can make the difference for a successful program.
For example, if you look at the results of your report, especially a retest, you may notice a large or minor change in a mineral level(s). However, the interpretation may address the major change and not the minor change. Do you understand the implications of such changes? A minor change in a micro-element can produce greater effects than a major change in a macro element!
Questions vary between each person but some of the more common questions that arise during a consultation include:
- What does a major change in a macro element mean?
- What does a minor change in a micro element mean?
- Why you may feel better but your results look worse?
- Why do you feel worse when your results have improved?
- Why toxic elements may or may not appear on my results?
- How are toxic elements interfering with essential nutrients?
- Why are specific foods recommended to increase or decrease?
- Do food and supplement recommendations change?
- Why should I consider your supplements?
Yes, consultations are an important component and this is why we include them in our program (Only available in United States and Canada). International clients call for potential Skype calls.
How is the hair analysis consultation conducted?
Consultations are by phone only and in a relaxed and informal manner. Liken it to two friends having a normal yet professional conversation – no intellectual narcissism!
First, we ask that you read the interpretation of your analysis. At the same time, write down any questions that arise! Your questions are where we start. As we move through your questions, it is normal for additional questions to come up. We will cover those as well.
Normally, a consultation requires about 45 to 60 minutes but if we need more time, that is fine. We can spend up to an hour and if need be, schedule an additional consultation. If, at any time during the consultation, you don’t understand an answer, make certain to point it out. We want to make certain your questions are answered!
Please make certain you have your analysis in front of you for the consultation because it is important to follow the topics we will discuss.
